Welcome to the homepage of the 2009 HOPE conference, "The Unsocial Social Science? Economics and the Neighboring Disciplines since 1945." The conference meetings will take place on Friday, May 1, and Saturday, May 2, in the Rhodes Conference Room of the Sanford Institute of Public Policy. Conference participants from out of town will stay at the Washington Duke Inn (a room has already been reserved for each out-of-town participant), which is a half-mile from the Sanford Institute. For a map, click here. The conference organizers are Roger E. Backhouse (University of Birmingham) and Philippe Fontaine (ENS Cachan and Institut universitaire de France).

On this site you will find pages with information about the conference. To access the pages, click on the links at the left.

This year's conference is generously funded by Duke University Press, the UK Leverhulme Trust (Academic Collaboration International Networks), and the French CNRS (Projet international de coopération scientifique).
