Course examines issues in personal investment strategies. Topics include behavioral finance, closed-end and open-end mutual funds, data-mining, diversification, efficient market hypothesis, equity premium, exchange-traded funds, expenses and transaction costs, life cycle investing, market timing, passive versus active investing, survivorship bias, tax managed investing, time zone arbitrage, Robert Shiller’s CAPE, Tobin’s Q. Pre-requisite: ECON201D. 3 units.
