The Duke University Child Care Scholarship Fund

This fund helps support families who need financial assistance with child care expenses. Applications are accepted in the spring and awards are disbursed during the subsequent academic year.

Child Care Options

Finding high quality child care is of utmost importance to parents, but doing so in Durham can take time. When you make your decision to attend Duke you should immediately begin researching your options and placing your children on the wait lists because the wait can be lengthy. The following are resources that have been recommended by students.

Duke Children's Campus

The Duke Children's Campus, operated by Bright Horizons, has space for 153 children aged six weeks old to kindergarten age. Graduate students may apply for enrollment for their children by completing the necessary forms at Duke Children's Campus or from http://hr.duke.edu/dcc/.

This interactive, indoor-outdoor science museum features hands-on

The Scrap Exchange

Art and craft supplies. More than 150 companies and manufacturers donate their clean scraps to the Exchange. Customers can fill a grocery bag full for $7.50 or purchase some items individually. The Scrap Exchange also offers birthday parties and arts & crafts workshops for kids.
