Regarding the collaborative efforts of students differed from previous experience.
Although course work is the major part from most MA students, it is really fun to talk to Ph.D. students about various research issues. Personally, I have been interested in many undergoing researches in the area of finance. I have been constantly talking to my econ friends, most of them Duke Ph.D. candidates, about their research subjects, methodologies, and results. It is so fascinating to see all the miro and macro concepts become vivid under the real application environment in their researches. This may have a deep impact on choosing my own research topic in the future.
