How to Apply

Competitive applicants will demonstrate outstanding quantitative backgrounds and a desire to gain breadth and deepen skills in quantitative areas and economic modeling. Graduates of the MSEM program are prepared to enter leading doctoral programs in economics, finance, statistics, and quantitative business areas. We also anticipate some graduates will seek positions as researchers in industry, the financial sector, think tanks, and government.

Admissions are made without reference to nationality, race, or gender, though we recruit actively among groups traditionally underrepresented in statistics and quantitative economics. A substantial fraction of those admitted receive offers of partial and on rare occasion full tuition waivers; all students in good standing are likely to find part-time research and teaching assistantships after the first semester. We encourage all talented students to apply regardless of financial constraints.

Applicants who also wish to be considered for the Economics MA program should indicate this on their application materials. However, you must also submit a separate application to the MA program. You can use the same recommendation letter and scores for both applications.
