Final Exam

The final examination consists of an oral defense of a dissertation to an approved supervisory committee. This is typically completed by the end of the fifth or sixth year and is required to be completed within four years of the preliminary examination. 

The final exam committee membership can be the same as the preliminary exam committee; however, if the membership will change, use the Econ Department's Committee Change form, which can be downloaded from this link:

Note: A student must be registered during the semester in which the final examination is attempted. Notification of committee membership, whether the same as the preliminary committee or changing, must be submitted to the DGSA 35 days before the date of the final exam.
