The Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) has partnered with the Economics Department to offer research-related positions to master's students. In order to help make better matches between these needs and the interests/skills of graduate student researchers, SSRI has created a site called “Research Connect.” At this site, students can enter information about themselves, what kinds of projects they are interested in, and what they believe are the strongest skills they can offer to projects. SSRI will begin to use this site to identify M.A. students it might like to hire for the different types of SSRI projects — and it will begin referring faculty to this site to find research assistance. This will take the place of direct e-mail solicitations as had taken place in the past. The Economics Department will also begin using this site to match master's students to RA positions within the department.
