Department Hosts Honors Program Events on April 24 and 27

The Department of Economics welcomes all members of the Duke community to come learn more about the research our undergraduates have completed as part of the 2017-18 Honors Program. This year, an anticipated 35 honors students are expected to compete for the following awards: Best Honors Thesis; Best Honors Thesis Finalist; Outstanding Symposium Presentation; Outstanding Honors Poster, Faculty Vote; and, Outstanding Honors Poster, Student Vote. Each prize comes with a cash gift, ranging from $200-500.

Honors Poster Session & Reception

Tuesday, April 24, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Perkins 217
The poster session and reception will begin at 5:00 p.m. Come talk to students about their research and vote for your favorite poster! Refreshments will be served.

Undergraduate Research Symposium

Friday, April 27, 1:00 - 5:00 p.m., Social Sciences 113
The annual Undergraduate Research Symposium provides a forum through which Honors Program students can give an oral presentation of their work and compete with selected students from other nearby North Carolina schools, such as Davidson College, Elon University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
