How has being an Economics graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"I taught high school economics for eight years so it naturally informed and aided my teaching. When I did my master's in international relations and my PhD in public policy, economics was intimately involved in both pursuits so my baseline knowledge from undergrad aided me enormously."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Economics programs?

"Learn the basics and fundamentals of the theory well so that you can apply them to real-world concepts. Hard skills like working in Excel and quant skills will be essential if you want to go into any even remotely analytical field."
