Professor Alvin Roth, joint winner of the 2012 Nobel Prize in Economics, will give a lecture on market design on Wednesday, March 27, on Duke's West Campus.
The title of Roth's talk is "Deceased Organ Donation and Allocation: 3 Experiments in Market Design." The event will be held from 3:00pm - 4:30pm in the Social Psychology Building, Room 130.
Roth has visited Duke several times and is a regular collaborator with Professor Attila Abdulkadiroglu, whose work was mentioned prominently in the scientific background article for the 2012 Nobel Prize. Roth has recently joined Stanford after serving as a faculty member of Harvard since 1998.
Wednesday's event is sponsored by Economic Research Initiatives at Duke.
