Congratulations to Faculty Members Fullenkamp, Rasiel and Boyd

The Department of Economics is pleased to announce the recent promotions of three faculty members. Connel Fullenkamp has been promoted to Full Professor of the Practice, and Emma Rasiel has been promoted to Associate Professor of the Practice. Gale Boyd, the director of the Triangle Census Research Data Center (TCRDC), has been promoted to Senior Research Scholar.

A specialist in economic policy, regulation of financial markets and financial market development, Connel Fullenkamp came to the economics department in 1999. He currently also serves as the Director of Undergraduate Studies. Recent research has involved frameworks for financial market development and the impact of immigrant remittances on economic growth. After receiving her doctorate from Duke, Emma Rasiel joined the department as an assistant professor and director of undergraduate studies in 2004. Rasiel’s work focuses on behavioral finance, pharmaceutical drug development and medical decision-making. Additionally, she currently serves as the Director of the Financial Education Partnership and the Academic Director of the Duke in New York Program, both of which help undergraduates prepare for careers in the finance sector. Gale Boyd is the director of the TCRDC, one of nine locations nationwide where research on confidential data collected by the Census can be conducted. Boyd’s research focuses on production efficiency, micro-data, index number decomposition and energy in relation to the environment. He is currently developing energy efficiency benchmarking tools for use in the EPA Energy Star program. Learn more about Boyd and the TCRDC.
