The DFE is delighted to announce that John Caccavale will join the Duke Financial Economics Centers in August as Executive Director. Caccavale is a Duke alum with nearly 30 years of experience in the financial markets.

He began his Wall Street career with JP Morgan on the foreign exchange desk. In 1996, he was promoted to Managing Director, with responsibility for all Foreign Exchanges sales, trading, and research. Caccavale left JP Morgan following the JPM/Chase merger and was briefly employed by Lehman Brothers, before joining Barclays Capital in 2002 as Head of North American Foreign Exchange. In 2006, he assumed responsibility for Barclays’ North American BARX electronic sales distribution for all products.

Caccavale has been an active alum, acting as Duke recruiting captain at various times for both JP Morgan and Barclays Capital. Via Barclays Capital’s sponsorship of the Financial Education Partnership, Caccavale has mentored Duke students, facilitated internships and employment for Duke students on Wall Street, and visited a number of undergraduate classes to talk about current Wall Street issues.

We warmly welcome him to the Department and to the Center.
