How has being an Economics graduate from Duke helped shape your professional success?
"The field of Economics is a great foundation for any career, but has been especially helpful in pursing a career in business and eventually starting my own consulting company. Although I don't use specific Economics skills on a daily basis, the analytic skills gained through my coursework are useful and applicable to all of my professional work."
What advice would you give students in Economics?
"Don't limit yourself to the couple of large consulting and banking firms that recruit on campus. There are so many options for career paths - explore the alumni resources and consider options that may take more research and effort. Shadowing people in fields you may be interested in can really help. Conducting informational phone and in-person interviews is also great. Make sure to send a prompt thank-you email or follow-up note to anyway who helps you along the way!"
