Investing in Climate Solutions

Course examines the history and development of the investment market for solutions to climate change, to include: renewable energy and the transition away from fossil fuels, sustainable infrastructure, sustainable food and agriculture, the circular economy and nature-based solutions to climate. Course addresses various private investment strategies to solve climate change in venture capital, private equity, private credit, project finance, & real assets. Students learn about challenges in investing for climate issues such as: measuring and reporting on impact of investment strategies that address environmental and social challenges. Course includes case studies, interaction with industry practitioners & student presentations on business and fund investment ideas. Prerequisite: ECON 101D.
